"Boxer Motor Company is the first garage I've used that I trust completely. They've now been looking after my business and family vehicles for four years. The service is always courteous, efficient and good value for money."

Boxer Motor Company was established in 1982 by Peter O'Mahony who decided to branch out on his own as a Renault Specialist working in a double garage in Maidenhead.

Within three years the company became Renault Service and Repairs and had taken on employees and relocated to larger premises in Forlease Road in the town centre.

By 1989, the business had expanded rapidly with four employees and another relocation to a purpose built industrial unit in Howarth Road. With the company servicing all makes and models of vehicles a new trading name was chosen, Boxer Motor Company after Peter’s first beloved Boxer dog.

Today, situated in much larger premises in Reform Road Maidenhead, Boxer Motor Company employs 10 staff including knowledgeable administration staff and highly skilled technicians. Peter has made significant investment in equipment and the garage offers specialist diagnostic testing as well as MOTs, servicing and repairs.

Despite the growth and continued success of the garage Peter remains grounded.
"Service for us starts the minute we answer the phone or when a customer walks through our door. We aim to get our customers back on the road as quickly and as cost effectively as possible. We believe this is why we continue to receive repeat business and recommendations."

  • 4 year old car?
If your car is four years old it may be due for a cam belt replacement. Most cam belts last about five years, and there's no way of knowing when they're likely to go. Replacing the cam belt will cost between £200 - £1,000 (depending on make and model) but a broken or snapped cam belt can cause serious engine damage, possibly costing £1000 or more to repair. Check your service receipts and if the cam belt hasn't been replaced, call us.

  • Are your tyre treads legal?
The minimum MOT requirement is 1.6mm over the central three-quarters of the tyre surface. For some types of vehicle, there must also be visible tread on the remaining quarter. To ensure your safety, we suggest you have a minimum of 2mm tread over the entire surface of the tyres - and use the tyre pressures recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.

  • Do you have an 07 prefix or older registration vehicle?
It could be due for its first MOT. Check the V5 Registration Document for the precise date. Some car dealers only tax vehicles for six months and so owners may find that the first MOT is due before their Road Fund Licence. If you drive your vehicle without a valid MOT certificate, you could invalidate your motor insurance policy. Not sure when the MOT is due? Call us today.

  • Flashing lights?
Wondering why that instrument panel light is flashing – or permanently on? Don’t ignore it! If you don’t know why your vehicle’s engine management light is on, for example, phone us or come and ask us, even if the vehicle appears to be performing normally. The warning could indicate the start of a major defect or a breakdown. Get it checked now!
